An academic journal recently researched how advertisers can measure the effectiveness of online advertising in the marketplace. They discovered that there are three crucial ways to maximize the effectiveness of online advertisements.
The first way is to focus on key-word based advertising rather than category-based advertising. This means that online advertisers should focus more on enlarging the amount of advertisements that relate to specific key words. It is proven that customers tend to do their online shopping based off of key words that relate what they’re searching for.
Secondly, online advertisers need to focus on the frequency of their advertisements. Research has proven that online users tend to forget an ad within two days of viewing it. Therefore, in order to advertise effectively, online advertisers need to focus more on the frequency of ads rather than the duration of ads.
And lastly, advertisers can increase the effectiveness of their ads by placement of ads on a web page. To have an effective ad, it is best to represent the ad on the top of the page. Also, an effective ad uses phrases that will turn the buyer onto the item such as “Today’s recommended item.”
Online advertisers are always looking for ways to measure the effectiveness of their ads. See if you notice any of these methods of advertising when you surf the net. Do they have an effect on you?
