2012 Online Advertising

With technology being very innovative, it is not hard to believe that there are plans for online advertising for the year of 2012 to be bigger and better. Many experts are chatting together, discussing where they think online advertising can improve, what they should do to stay competitive, and what their plans are.
Fourthsource.com pulled some sources together and quoted experts opinions and statements about this topic of 2012 online advertising. Very interesting website that keeps readers informed of the latest news, advice, and tips having to do with digital media marketing in the UK. They do this through an expert panel, industry news, weekly newsletters, and opinions. This website portrays one of the key elements that people surfing the web crave-interaction. It lets users post their opinions and provides information of experts as well.
Richard Sharp, MD and Head of UK trading at ValueClick Media says that websites need to work on their relationships, it will set them aside from others. These are relationships with several publishers and your customers. He claims that it will help your business find which form of advertisement works best for you and ultimately build successful campaigns.
Ian Kerrigan, Executive Creative Director at Gyro notes online advertising's personalization skills being developed. He believes that interactivity is the future of online advertising, would you agree? Most brands are wanting to engage the users and make the web easier for their convenience. He goes on to speak of websites that display perfect examples of further engagement such as Last.fm and Google.
With several other opinions displayed on Fourthsource, we would be curious to know your opinions about what the future holds for online advertising, or even what you would like for online advertisements to work on.

Maybe this can spark your thoughts. Made by Internet Explorer: ( I apologize, the blogger video finder would not find this video)

  1. I have thought about how online advertising would be in the future. I do think companies need to make their advertising more engaging and interactive. Last.fm does a great job of engaging the user because it recommends songs based on what you play. Also enjoyed the video.

  2. I agree that interactive online advertisements are the future on advertising. The Advertisements are going to be very specific and personal for each user. Websites already can track and save your viewing history, therefore they can supply users with specific advertisements for a company/brand. The interactive ads will have categories for you to choose your favorite one. By clicking it will send you to that product/services websites with special offers.
